We plan to have on-line national registration functioning within the first few months of 2001. We appreciate your patience as the Boston office reorganizes to include more support of the national effort. In the meantime realize that the online (entire website) operation has been operating purely on volunteer time and without any resource allocation from the national office (plans are underway to improve the effort and change the present arrangement).
Please proceed to the nearest individual state committee in order to join the organization and/or become active. The Massachusetts office is the best bet for assistance in organizing a new state committee. Or see the Webmaster of National Site for change to state directory/contacts HERE for contact information
You can contact state committees either by clicking on the arrows and state abbreviations on the map on the national homepage or by clicking on the link on bottom of this page. The map has the advantage of taking you to contact information for your region or nearest state. If there is no active CDHC committee in a state (or if they have no website) there will be no arrow on the map for them, but only the directory information.
In both the map and the list below we have also included state committees which are working explicitly towards single-payer solutions and other solutions which fall within our principles. The State Committees to Defend Health Care however includes single-payer as one possible solution among several. Note that individual CDHC state committees may also have made minor modifications to our statement and mission. See our statement of principles

If you are working with a state committee aiming towards universal health care and your work is not represented here yet PLEASE contact the national webmaster now for a FREE basic website. We would be glad to design and post it for you (update it regularly too). All you need absolutely is someone in your committee who is willing to be our contact person (for the website) and who has both a email and telephone (with answering machine) so that they can be reached. contact Webmaster
Otherwise we hope to include your state one day soon! YOUR effort could make the difference.
